LUCY & JAKOB MATHIAS

They are like Harry Potter, Ron, and Hermione... just the two of them... and without real magic. Instead, Lucy and Jakob reach deep into their bag of tricks and provide a great show with acrobatics and "totally awesome stuff" (quote from the audience).

GOODSHIELD & KAT
SATURDAY from 3.30 pm
From a young age, art and music had always played a major role in his observations and expressions of the world around him. Cultural identity was always important too, having grown up in California, far from his regional ancestral lands, he has successfully faced the challenge of keeping strong cultural ties. Good Shield's styles range from traditional drumming and singing, to acoustic melodies with spoken word, to funky dance grooves to hard rock. He is a multi-instrumentalist, playing drums, guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, piano, and flute. He is best known for his solo acoustic performances, strumming an acoustic guitar while pounding on a bass drum with his foot and belting out Indigenous chants, singing, and spoken word. At other times, one might catch him playing with a full band called, 7th Generation Rise, comprised of other, like minded Indigenous friends/fellow musicians. Music and activism has taken him all over Turtle Island (and Europe), introducing him to the beauty and diversity of the many nations across this land and beyond and also the struggles and plights continuing today, from sacred site desecration, to revoked water rights, to contamination of the environment, and the slaughtering of buffalo and wolves.
CRUMB VALLEY
SATURDAY from 7.30 pm
Crumb Valley is a band from the Koblenz area that lives for the passion of music. Wherever Crumb Valley is, there is unplugged riot at its finest. No matter how: as long as it's loud and fast! Crumb Valley cannot be categorized into a single genre. Everything is included, from Irish folk to rock to uptempo jazz folk - always in their own, unmistakable style. Accordingly, you will find male and female vocals, guitars, drums, and bass, as well as trumpets, trombones, flutes, saxophones, and piano in their lineup.
SMOKIN' PARROTS
SATURDAY from 9pm
This is top-notch rollercoaster rock from Koblenz. The five-member band delivers mind-blowing dance music with a packed genre mix of rock ('n' roll), blues, punk, and more. They primarily excite with their own songs, all handmade and without technical frills, true to the motto 'No Birdshit.' A cover or two also joins the mix, reinterpreted in their own style. The quirky group consists of Lukas Kambeck (vocals), Florian 'FloW' Hiller (electric guitar), Annika Krause (bass, backing vocals), Sabrina Hild (saxophone), and Jannis Dinklage (drums). The combo has been around since 2017 and has released the EPs 'Blue' (2020) and 'Red' (2023), available on all major streaming platforms. 'Is it a Bird, is it a plane? Actually yes, they are the Smokin' Parrots!'
THE RHINO
SATURDAY from 10.30 pm
Rock’n’Roll sound with all the energy that a trio can muster – The Rhino is not a band that happens on the side; The Rhino is loud: roaring bass, pounding drums, gritty guitar, and thunderous vocals. The Rhino plays garage rock that is catchy and raw, yet still complex. Like the rhinoceros, their music is gentle one moment and suddenly massive and wild the next. Influences from blues, surf, and stoner rock create a blend that remains dangerous even in their quieter moments.
Since they recorded their first EP during the Corona lockdown and won the Rock’n’Pop Youngsters Band Contest 2022, The Rhino has been shaking up the Rhine-Main area: pretty much every live club and festival in Mainz has been packed to bursting and metaphorically torn down. Aside from the pursuit of ever more ecstatic live shows, the band is working intensively on their first full-length album, set to be released in early 2025.
